Tata motors sold aprox 76000 vichicals in jan 2011

Tata Motors’ total sales (including exports) of Tata commercial and passenger vehicles in January 2010 were 75,423 vehicles, a growth of 15% over 65,478 vehicles sold in January 2009. The company’s domestic sales of Tata commercial and passenger vehicles for January 2010 were 70,475 nos., 13% growth over 62,202 nos. sold in January last year. Cumulative sales (including exports) for the company for the fiscal are 642,416 nos., a growth of 29% over 498,109 nos. sold last year. Commercial Vehicles: The company’s sales of commercial vehicles in January 2010 in the domestic market were 40,263 nos., a 12% growth compared to 35,957 vehicles sold in January last year. LCV sales were 23,776 nos., a growth of 17% over January last year. M&HCV sales stood at 16,487 nos., a growth of 5% over January last year. Tata Nano with a diesel engine will reportedly be rolled out in August or September. According to reports, the diesel engine will be in the 600-700 cc range like the petrol version and could be priced at a slight premium over the current variants. Component makers expect the diesel Nano to sport a price tag between Rs. 1.8-2.2 lakh. The diesel Nano will be the smallest and cheapest diesel car in the market and sport a sub-1000 cc engine, but with output and performance 20-30% better than is usual for that engine size. Honeywell has developed the world's smallest turbo systems for Nano, while Bosch will fit the smallest common rail direct injection (CRDi) system. The other partners in the project includes AVL, FEV and Ricardo, adds report.

A customer can book the car at any Tata dealership, any Croma outlet, any Westside outlet and the booking can even be made online. To book the car, the customer will have to fill a Rs 300 application form and deposit an amount equal to 70 to 80 per cent of car’s price as booking amount. The form can be deposited at any SBI branch or the place, where it was bought and the payment can be made through a draft or cheque. Along with the application, an address proof is also needed and that could be a copy of the Voter ID, passport or driving license. Meanwhile, Tata Motors is gearing up for the launch of the car as the demand is expected to be more than what the company can produce now. The Pantnagar plant of the company can make 50,000 to 60, 000 cars and this will is far less than the consumer demand.

The Tata Group plans to invest up to Rs 1.2 lakh crore across sectors in India over the next five years as the group looks to more than doubling its revenues to $150 billion (about Rs 6.6 lakh crore). The group, which has over 90 operating companies, will put in half of the planned investment in the power sector, while the other significant portions will be in steel and auto sectors. “We have become a significant player globally in each of the sectors that we are present in. In the next five years, the pace of growth of the group will continue... The current investment assessment for the next five years is around Rs 1.1-1.2 lakh crore,” said Kishor A Chaukar, managing director, Tata Industries, the investment arm of the Tata Group.
