The Toyota Etios is the long awaited entry level sedan of the popular Japanese automobile manufacturer Toyota Motors. Toyota Etios is specially designed for Indian roads. Toyota manufactures this car in sedan as of now, though a hatchback version will follow. Initially, Toyota Etios will be sold just in India and later on it will be introduced worldwide. Toyota Etios is described as a highly fuel efficient, affordable, and powerful sedan.

                                                                           

Toyota Etios Introduction and Launch History

Initially, Toyota Etios was first debuted in the 2010 Auto Expo. The Etios’ final launch took place in 2010 December.  The production of this product takes place at Toyota’s Bangalore plant and it is the biggest Toyota project in India. Toyota’s future plans for the Etios are to produce this product in Brazil by 2015.

Toyota Etios Exterior

Toyota Etios front exterior is compact and sharp. Its lower grille is coated with black color and its upper grille is chrome coated. The Etios has pearl white fog lamps, which are very much visible under the ends of lower grille. Glowing wipers are fitted at both front and rear parts of the Toyota Etios. Door handles, bumper, rear cowl and side mirrors come with the same color of the body. Toyota Etios’ six-spoke alloy wheels make Toyota Etios exterior attractive. Toyota Etios sedan taillight exterior are triangular in shape and that clump with reverse, turn and break indicators. The exhaust pipes are invisible in Toyota Etios.

Toyota Etios interior compartment is large and comes with ample head and shoulder room. Apart from that, it also has ample of space in foot and leg area. Driver seat is designed in such a way that it gives perfect support for thighs and the back angle of driver seat is perfectly optimized to deliver superb driving position. The materials that are used in Toyota Etios interiors are not that very luxurious but they are sufficient and sturdy.



Toyota Etios interiors are conventional as the instrumental panel is fixed in the center position, which is visible for the passengers in rear seat and the AC vent is fixed at the corners of dashboard, and the car comes with ample of storage space. Toyota Etios interior is equipped with touch-screen audio system with operating switches and that is located at the center of the console.

Toyota Etios sedan is available in four variants. They are - Toyota Etios J, Toyota Etios G, Toyota Etios V and Toyota Etios VX. Toyota Etios J is the base model as it comes with only basic features, without power steering, whereas G, V and VX come with power steering. Etios G allows further options, such as an option of ABS and dual airbags.  Etios V and VX are mid and high-end variants respectively. They both have dual airbags and ABS as standard. Additionally high-end variant Etios VX comes with disc breaks as well.

Toyota Etios sedan is equipped with 1.2L DOHC 16 valve petrol engine and comes with four valves per cylinder along with dual camshaft. Toyota Etios boot compartment measures 550 liter and its length, width and height are 4265mm, 1695mm and 1510mm respectively. The wheelbase of Toyota Etios measures 2550mma and the measurement of its ground clearance is 173mm.

Toyota Etios booking has started and it is available in all the major Toyota dealers of India. Toyota invests Rs.200 crore to build up Etios. In order to promote the sales of this largest project of Toyota in India, the company has increased its dealership number to 150.

Toyota Etios has strong competitors in the country. Some of the major competitors of this super model are – Maruti Dzier, Volkswagen Vento, Tata Indigo, and Hyundai Verna and so on.
